Foot Facts

A really good foot massage is one of the most relaxing and intimate things you can do for your Mistress; done right it is heavenly but done wrong can be uncomfortable and even painful. Treat each foot, in fact each part of each foot, with reverence and tenderness but don’t be afraid to apply suitable pressure to the soles to knead out any tension.

Here I will explain to you some of the things you should do to ensure you give a good foot massage and please your Mistress.

The study of foot massage, or reflexology, works on applying pressure to certain points on the feet known as reflex points. Stimulation and/or massage of certain areas of the foot can help alleviate symptoms of illness, identify diseases and generally relieve stress and tension. The idea is that the reflex points extend from our feet right up to the top of the head, via all your vital organs en route. See diagram:

The information I have included here is a guide to giving a good foot massage not proper reflexology. Some of the benefits of reflexology happen automatically simply by massaging the feet but the main objective here is to help Mistress’ tired feet feel better and for you to please Her! Note: If you really want to please your Lady then check out courses in reflexology or massage at a nearby college.

Preparation for giving a Foot Massage

If you are giving a foot massage to your Mistress always make sure that She is sitting or lying comfortably and that the feet are comfortably rested on a pillow, folded towel and/or your lap. The room temperature should be comfortable and soft music playing helps create a nice, relaxed environment.

To begin with make sure the feet are totally clean and dry. Foot spas are a heaven sent invention soothing Mistress’ feet with warm water and caressing the skin with bubbles and jets. Alternatively you can make a foot soak with a cup of Epsom salts dissolved in a gallon of warm water. Use a soft, fluffy towel and make sure you dry Her feet thoroughly; remember to include between the toes.

When carrying out a foot massage there are lots of different lotions and potions that you can use. I prefer a light lotion that will absorb easily & not leave feet too slippery after use or you can use essential oils. When using oils be careful as it can make the foot too slippery to apply pressure suitably and make sure that you read the instructions carefully as some can have negative effects. Most should not be applied directly to the skin but used in small quantities and combined with a carrier/base oil.

Do make sure you massage one foot thoroughly before you start on the other. When you have finished one foot, wrap it lightly in a towel to keep it warm.

Foot Massage Techniques

Stroking: as a technique this helps to stimulate the blood vessels/circulation and encourages a gentle heat to warm the foot. Hold one of your Mistress’ feet gently in your hands and begin to massage the top of the foot; using your thumbs start at the toes and move up towards the ankle in a slow, steady stroking motion. When you reach the ankle follow the same line back to the toes. Always make sure you keep the pressure lighter around the toes than the ankle area. Do this 5 or 10 times and then do the same to the sole of the foot.

Ankle rotation: this loosens the joints and relaxes the feet. First, gently move your Mistress’ ankle from side to side to help loosen the ankle joint. Then, holding the heel of Her foot in your cupped hand and the ball of the foot with the other hand, gently rotate Her foot clockwise and then anticlockwise 3 or 4 times to relax the foot from the ankle joint.

Tendon kneading: put both hands around your Mistress’ feet with your fingers on the bottom and your thumbs on the top. Move your thumbs between the tendons (those cords you feel on the top) smoothly and firmly from Her ankle toward Her toes. Make long, firm strokes rather than short, jerky ones. Work with enough pressure so it's not ticklish, but not so deep it feels like a gouge.

Pivoting: gently hold your Mistress’ foot in your hand, supporting Her foot under the heel with toes up and soles towards you, and use the other hand to massage the sole of Her foot with your thumb. Begin with the area directly below Her big toe and slowly move along to the areas beneath each of the other toes. After applying this initial pressure, roll the thumb back and forth over each area of the ball of the foot – sort of like wiggling your thumb over Her skin. Do one small area, then release the pressure and move to the next. This technique can be very relaxing and especially if you vary the amount of pressure being applied to each area.

Rotation: using your thumbs make circular motions that cover the entire surface of the bottom of your Mistress’ foot; start at the base of the toes and move towards the heel. Keep the pressure of the circles steady and even; you can use a bit more firmness on the heels as the skin here is tougher. Repeat the process with a little firmer pressure and give a few extra strokes to any area where your Mistress’ prefers it; commonly pain is felt in the ball of the foot, or the arch, or perhaps around the ankles. Make sure you do not dig too deeply; remember this is supposed to be relaxing!

Kneading: this technique uses the knuckles at the second joints. Support the heel of the foot with one hand and using the other "knead" the area like you would dough with large pressing, rotating movements over the sole of the foot. Note: that the foot is not as flexible as dough, so make sure you are gentle!

Arch Press: this technique helps to release tension in the arches. Hold your Mistress’ foot as for kneading but this time use the heel of your other hand and push firmly sliding along the arch from the ball of the foot toward the heel and back again. Repeat three to five times. This part of the foot can tolerate a bit more pressure; just don’t overdo it.

Toe Pulls and Squeezes: toes, like fingers, are sensitive to the touch so make sure you don’t neglect them. Support your Mistress’ foot beneath the arch. With your other hand, starting with the big toe, hold the toe between your thumb and first finger (your thumb should be one top and your first finger underneath). Starting at the base of the toe, slowly and firmly pull the toe, sliding your fingers all the way to the tip of the toe and then back down to the base. Repeat the process, but this time gently squeeze and roll the toe between your thumb and index finger, working your way to the tip and back to the base. Repeat these two movements on the other toes. Be gently as your Mistress’ will not appreciate broken toes!

Toe Slides: support your Mistress’ foot under Her heel, then with the index finger of your other hand, insert your finger between each of Her toes, and slide it back and forwards three to five times. Make sure you use adequate lotions or oils.

Finger Walking: visualize a grid over the sole of the foot with each square being approximately the size of the tip of second toe (about a half of a square inch). Beginning at the big toe, walk your fingers horizontally across the foot, one square to the next, and then down to the next row of squares until you have walked the entire foot.

Repeat the stroking technique, a nice soothing way to relax the foot once more, and you are finished. Repeat with the other foot.
